Radio as a traditional medium has a long history and for decades served as one of the main sources of information, entertainment, and community connection. In recent years, however, it has faced the challenges of digitalization, changing audience habits, and the strong influence of visual platforms. Video is increasingly used as a tool for more engaging storytelling, promotion, and increasing reach.
In the theoretical part of this thesis, I will describe the history and development of radio and its transformation from an audio-based to a multimedia medium. I will also include current examples of industry practices that already use video production, both in Slovenia and abroad.
In the practical part, I will produce a video for Slovenia’s largest radio station, Radio 1, designed to support the radio program and the strategy of integrating radio and video.
