This thesis addresses the lack of digital solutions that systematically integrate information about restaurants and culinary offerings across the former Yugoslavia. Global platforms such as TripAdvisor, Yelp, and Google Maps provide basic support but fail to capture the region’s specific cultural and linguistic context. The work presents the development of a cross-platform application, Balkanski Gurman, which enables users to search, filter, and review restaurants while supporting multiple regional languages. The solution is based on a modern technology stack: TypeScript, Express.js, React.js, React Native, Expo, PostgreSQL, and Prisma ORM. The main contribution of the thesis is the design of a comprehensive platform that improves access to information, increases the visibility of small local restaurants, and fosters the digitalization and promotion of the Balkan culinary heritage.
