The thesis addresses lean construction as a modern approach to organizing and managing construction projects, with an emphasis on reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and improving stakeholder collaboration. The theoretical part presents the main tools and techniques, such as the 5S system, pull planning, Kanban, and the Last Planner System, as well as their potential integration into contemporary project practices, such as Design-Build and Integrated Project Delivery. The influence of digital technologies and sustainable approaches on the development of lean construction is also discussed. The practical part demonstrates the application of lean construction through the example of a complex project in Ljubljana, where the investor built a multi-story commercial and retail building. The project included challenging earthworks and support works, where methods of pull planning, the 5S system, and the BREEAM sustainability certificate were applied. The implementation analysis showed that the lean approach increases the transparency of schedules, improves communication among subcontractors, and reduces the risk of time delays. The results confirm that lean construction represents an effective complement to traditional project management methods. In addition to increasing productivity, it contributes to the sustainability goals of the construction industry by promoting the rational use of resources, waste reduction, and responsible collaboration among all stakeholders.
