A management plan has been prepared for the Trček forest estate, which is located in the settlement of Rovte near Logatec. The estate is in the form of a compact unit and covers 52 hectares of forest. The owner processes coniferous wood at a home sawmill, while hardwood is used for firewood, which is sold to local customers. The plan was created based on the needs and wishes of the owner. We conducted a stand inventory and created a stand map. The estate was divided into 28 management units, which served as the basis for preparing the silvicultural plan. In the economic assessment, we also considered the income and expenses associated with processing wood at the sawmill. We proposed two scenarios:1) »Business-As-Usual«, and 2) »Processing of own wood«, where only the estate’s own wood is processed at the sawmill and no additional wood is purchased. Based on the calculated revenues and costs, we estimated the ten-year net return for both scenarios. In the first scenario, the annual rent amounts to €34,302, while in the second scenario it is €13,658, which is approximately 60% less.
