In my master thesis Materialisation of Performativity, I investigate the intersections of performance, video, and installation. Through the processual development of the ARTE-FAKT project, I formulate my own definition of the hybrid medium of performative installation. By means of analysis, I observe the emergence of an intermedia system and how these media subtly reflect one another through transitions. Initially, I use waste collected from public floors as a spatial materialisation of performance. Over the course of the project’s development, I reclassify this waste as sculptural material, aiming to employ the art object to reveal the phenomenon of waste’s presence as a hyperobject entity—an omnipresent entity in our environment. Through this artistic production, I present environmental pollution as an agent for the empirical experience of a global issue, thereby provoking both a sensual and cognitive response to the contemporary ecological crisis.
