In my master’s thesis, I will first address certain social deviations and disorders that hinder an individual’s simple inclusion into society. I will describe autism, social withdrawal syndrome, and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD). My focus will be on how such conditions manifest in everyday life, and above all, how they shape the inner world of the individual and affect their interactions with their surroundings.
Furthermore, I will present the artistic practice of Sophie Calle, who often explores questions of human vulnerability, identity, and intimacy in her work. I will use her approach as a starting point for establishing a connection with my own artistic process.
I will present my artistic process through a semi-literary form, close to a diary entry, that reflects my own experience of society. It will include numerous everyday, often informal conversational fragments, through which I aim to depict a broad landscape of communication within which certain social deviations or exclusions may occur.
