This master’s thesis presents, the development of a web-based viewer running in the Google Chrome browser is presented, with which the conventional method of producing a geodetic plan was optimized. The optimization included various functionalities implemented in the web viewer. The main functionality was the real-time styled rendering of points. For visualization in the viewer, a connection between the total station and a tablet computer was required. The thesis provides a detailed description of the communication necessary to establish the connection, including the types of communication interfaces and protocols used. It also describes the geodetic fundamentals of the geodetic plan and the ways in which measurements can be carried out, as well as the establishment of a geodetic network required for defining the reference coordinate framework. Furthermore, the established method of geodetic plan production and the suggested, optimized method are described in detail. Enhancements and advantages of each method are discussed. The thesis also presents, in detail, a practical case study for testing the operation of the developed web viewer. The test area and the results of the experiment are described. The performance of the viewer is critically evaluated, and possible directions for further development of the method are outlined.
