The thesis addresses the establishment and transformation of the coordinate reference system for the construction of the Second Track (2TDK) railroad line on the Second Track between Divača and Koper (2TDK). Since different coordinate systems were used in the planning (D48/GK) and construction (D96- 17/TM) phases, a rigorous seven-parameter Helmert similarity transformation was carried out between the two systems. The coordinates of the new geodetic control network, determined in D96-17/TM, had to be transformed to D48/GK to ensure spatial consistency with the project documentation. The project area was divided into two transformation zones that partially overlap, enabling a comparative analysis and additional quality control of the transformation. This thesis presents the input data, the computation of the transformation parameters, the analysis of the discrepancies, and graphical as well as numerical summaries of the results. Special attention is devoted to the overlap region, where the two transformation zones intersect, which allows a comparative analysis of different sets of transformation parameters – both locally adjusted and general (national) ones. The results show that the local adjustment of the parameters significantly reduces the discrepancies, while the use of general state parameters leads to uniform but unacceptably large shifts.
