Based on European and national objectives, as well as a review of energy consumption in transport in 2023, we developed scenarios for achieving the required shares of renewable energy sources and renewable fuels of non-biological origin in transport. The analysis includes an overview of energy and financial flows for the use of various renewable fuels of non-biological origin. We focused on green hydrogen, e-methane, e-ethanol, and e-diesel. The last part of the calculations serves as a reference and provides insight into the possibilities of achieving the targets when considering the data provided for 2023. The findings show that, in order to meet the objectives by 2030, it would be necessary to introduce a combination of transport electrification and renewable fuels of non-biological origin, with at least 29 % of the energy coming from renewable sources.
