In my thesis Role of toys and preschool teachers in promoting children's play, I explored what and how important role of the preschool teachers is in promoting children's play. In the theoretical part I defined play and types of play. I also focused on toys, their definition and the characteristics of good toys. I also devoted a part to the play partner and the space and the role of preschool teacher in children's play. In the empirical part of thesis I used a questionnaire to investigate which play areas are most often offered to children by preschool teachers, how or in what way preschool teachers include play islands in the preparation of the space, how preschool teachers engage in children's play and what their opinion on this is, and how the encourage children to choose a variety of toys. For this purpose, I used the online tool 1KA through which I made a survey questionnaire. A total of 76 male and female preschool teachers with different numbers of years of experience in education completed the questionnaire. The results show that most preschool teachers are aware of the importance in children's play. They showed that they are aware of the importance of their involvement in children's play and of preparing the space which children will play.
