In the rapid development of the digital era that we are currently experiencing, everyday social practices and online social networks have become an indispensable part of daily life for many users, particularly the youth. Participation and involvement in online social networks has become a social norm. This research work is conceived with the aim of presenting young people experiences and reflects on social network use, for what purposes and how much time spent using them on a daily basis. The master's thesis also presents the subjective assessments of users about the advantages and disadvantages of using online social networks, and their opinions about the impact of use on physical and mental health. With the help of qualitative research, the master's thesis presents the prespectives and opinions of young users regarding implementation, and their experiences with it. The role of discourse in the future is also emphasized, as this has a significant impact on insight use and can make contribution to safer use of online social networks. Understanding the balance between the digital and a real world is key for all users of online social networks.
