The development of the recorder in the second half of the twentieth century in the Netherlands was strongly influenced by the work of Frans Brüggen and Walter van Hauwe, who influenced both the technique of playing and the placement of the recorder in the contemporary musical space. The master's thesis presents the revival of the recorder, its representatives, the musical path of Frans Brüggen, important recorder makers, the acquisition of a new musical repertoire, performance techniques and new ensembles. The position of the recorder, which developed from a purely amateur to a professional one, is defined, and with it the influence of the Dutch School on the development of the field of the recorder in the rest of the countries.
