This thesis describes the process of making a device that demonstrates the operation of an optical encoder.
The introduction contains a brief description of the history of encoders, their operation, and a presentation of Renishaw encoders. Introduction also explains the operation of the Renishaw Resolute encoder, around which the product is designed.
Then, the product requirements are explained and product ideas are discussed. Product ideas address electrical, mechanical and software design parts of the process.
In electrical part, I describe the selection of components and production of the printed circuit board. After that, the software part is described, in which operation of the game is explained. The chapter on the casing explains the mechanical moving part and the screen case, which also houses the entire electrical part.
Conclusion shows results and observations and discusses possible improvements.
