The main goal of the thesis was to design a test bench for measurements of the temperature characteristics of permanent magnet electric motors.
In the first part of the thesis, a brief review of the literature on permanent magnet motors is provided. After that a program for measurements of temperature characteristics of electric motors with permanent magnets, written in LabVIEW software environment is described. The program also enables the testing procedure of correct operation of the pt-1000 temperature sensor. In addition, a graphic user interface was also created to facilitate the measurement procedure and visualisation of the data.
A test bench setup for temperature measurements of the tested motors is done in the MAHLE Electric Drives Slovenia company, in collaboration with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering. The equipment for the test bench design includes an IsCAN controller, DeweSoft's MonoDAQ and an MC-040 inverter. The test bench was also validated. Finally, the program with GUI, written in LabVIEW was tested on two different samples of electric motors with permanent magnets.
