Safe and ergonomically designed production workstations are becoming increasingly important in the organisation of work in modern companies. A key element of such a workplace is often a workbench with the appropriate load-bearing capacity. Due to the different dimensions and weights of workpieces and the different body sizes of employees,
a height-adjustable workbench is required to enable an ergonomic working posture. In this work, we analysed the market and defined the most important product specifications. Using a morphological matrix, we designed the optimum concept and developed a numerical 3D model of the selected solution. This was followed by a static and structural analysis of the most important components of the height-adjustable workbench and the selection of a suitable drive system.
