Introduction: Tooth decay or dental caries is a major cause of various problems and pain in patients during the period of deciduous teeth and then in permanent teeth. Nowadays, there are many different ways of treating it, one of which is the Hall technique, which, according to studies, has proved to be very successful and popular among children and parents. A study carried out in the United Kingdom showed a 97% success rate over a period of 5 years, and today this technique is considered the gold standard there. The technique uses prefabricated metal crowns that are cemented directly to the deciduous molar, without the need for anaesthesia and removal of the carious tissue. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis was to determine the knowledge of the basics of dental caries among dental technicians and dental prosthetists and to present a method of treating caries on the deciduous molars with the Hall technique via a survey. At the same time, we wanted to find out how much the method is known in Slovenia. I also wanted to obtain the opinion of dental technicians and dental prosthetists on the feasibility of individualising the prefabricated metal crowns for the treatment of caries on deciduous teeth using the Hall technique. Methods: Using the descriptive - causal method, we collected data through a mixed-type survey, which was administered online to dental technicians dental prosthetists. To check the Slovenian market for prefabricated metal crowns, we called all companies involved in the sale of medical devices and supplies. For the resource analysis itself, we used Google Scholar, Scopus, ResearchGate, Wiley Online Library, Science Direct and PubMed. Other sources were suggestions from the tutor and only these were obtained in physical form from the Medical Library of the University of Ljubljana. The sources were obtained in the period from June 2024 to December 2024. As part of the diploma thesis, a total denture for the mandible was made for the patient. The prosthesis was made in the Aničić laboratory in Velenje in cooperation with the office of Mirjana Stojanović in Šoštanj. Results: 133 respondents completed the survey, which allowed us to analyse the data and organise it into graphs. This gave us a better overview of the responses. Discussion and conclusion: Based on the respondents' answers, we found that they had a good understanding of the basics of dental caries, the causes of caries and how to treat it. From their answers it was possible to conclude that the Hall technique is a very poorly known method in Slovenia. With regard to the prefabricated metal crowns themselves, the respondents were aware of the possible disadvantages of these crowns, and therefore 38% of the respondents thought that individualisation of the crowns was reasonable and feasible. 44% of the respondents thought that individualisation of the crowns was unreasonable but feasible. The rest thought it was both unfeasible and pointless. For the Slovenian market itself, we found that there is no supply of prefabricated metal crowns in Slovenia.
