The thesis focuses on Slovak prose of the 1940s. The focus will be on naturism as one of the tendencies of creativity in this period in Slovakia. Among other things, I will also look at balladry, or search for ballad elements that have been transferred from poetry to prose in Slovak literature. Dominik Tatarka (1913-1989) was a Slovak prose writer, essayist and journalist, as well as an activist. František Švantner (1912-1950) was a Slovak novelist and short prose writer and the most important representative of Slovak naturism. The basis of his authorial philosophy was the concept of nature; the confrontation of life and death in a folklore-mythological context. The subject of comparative analysis is the novella The Miraculus Maiden (1944) by Dominik Tatarka and the novella Malka (1942) by František Švantner.
