This master's thesis presents an analysis and development of a job performance system in a Slovenian private company (hereinafter: Company x). The goal of the thesis was to analyse the possibility of introducing a job performance and competence evaluation system in the Company x and assess the integration of job performance remuneration and the variable component of remuneration. In the theoretical part, the method of analysing secondary sources in the field of job performance management, competence evaluation and existing employee evaluation methods and tools is employed. In the empirical part, the Company x underwent pilot testing of the job performance evaluation system and the expression of work-specific competence. Four research questions were set and answered based on empirical findings. Based on the findings from the pilot research, it was determined how to improve the job performance evaluation system in the Company x. It was found that the job performance and competence evaluation system is a suitable tool to identify potential gaps and plan employee development. It was also confirmed that the system could be effectively integrated with the salary system, thus additionally stimulating employee development and the company's performance.
