The integration of the individual Cistercian and Carthusian religious houses into the hierarchical structure of the transport network in Slovenia in the High and Late Middle Ages took place at various levels. The spatial mobility of the monks of the studied orders was limited by the rules of the orders. At the same time, it was encouraged by the everyday life within the monastic outpost and the organisational structures of the order.
