This thesis details the steps taken to rework the backend of the Atlas WMS software solution, which was originally a monolithic application written in the Java programming language. The thesis outlines the main functionalities of the application before the rework. Atlas WMS has been redesigned into a web-based application that still uses the Java programming language but has now a backend based on the Spring framework. The thesis describes the rework process and outlines the rationale for selecting specific technologies that contributed to the modernisation of the application's core functionalities. A comparison of the application's performance before and after the rework is also included, highlighting significant differences. Finally, the thesis evaluates the success of the rework and presents potential improvements identified during the process.
