The master's thesis deals with the work-life balance of employees coordination of professional, private and family life at the chosen ministry, the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities (hereinafter: MDDSZ). In the context of private life, family life is also discussed, as both concepts are very intertwined. The term private life includes, in addition to family life, also other activities of employees outside of working hours.
The purpose of the master's thesis was to provide the management of the selected ministry with informationon the measures taken to facilitate the coordination of professional, private and family life, both for those who are more employed and those who are less satisfied and formulate proposals for the introduction of new measures.
Through literature review, surveys and interviews it was found which measures are the most important for work-life balance. The survey showed how satisfied the employees of MDDSZ are with the measures taken so far and what new measures could be determined. The survey was also conducted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (hereinafter: MZZ).
The research showed that the measures adopted at MDDSZ facilitated the coordination of various aspects of employees' lives. The following measures proved to be particularly important: active communication with employees, adjusting working hours, the possibility of working from home, training managers on the topic of work-life balance and other social skills, including these topics in annual conversations, conducting opinion surveys and re-engaging employees after long absences. Based on this, the management will be able to introduce new measures to facilitate the coordination of the professional, private and family life of employees or improve the existing ones.
