Safety in railway transport is of utmost importance and has been at a high level since the beginning of development. It is a form of transport where a high level of safety can be ensured despite the otherwise high risk of a serious accident with serious consequences for users, cargo and the environment. Despite the high level of automation, the human factor still has a very large influence on the operation of the railway transport system.
In the Master's thesis, the risks that occur daily in the management and operation of railway traffic are identified and analysed with great care and must be recognized and managed in a timely manner in order to prevent the occurrence of an extraordinary event. Prevention alone is not enough, so a careful investigation and treatment of each traffic emergencies is also necessary in order to discover the reasons for the occurrence of the traffic emergencies, introduce preventive measures and reduce the risk of recurrence to the lowest possible level.
It is precisely with the aim of preventing extraordinary events and ensuring orderly and smooth railway traffic that many extraordinary events and the reasons for their occurrence are presented in the task. In the master's thesis, it was found that, in addition to the risk of accidents at level crossings, the human factor in the railway traffic is still the biggest risk.
