In the thesis I will present the importance of sustainable mobility in the Municipality of Postojna. A sustainable approach to transportation ensures the reduction of the negative impacts of traffic on the environment, human health, and the economy. I will assess the current state of sustainable mobility and how residents perceive it. To understand the opinions of the residents, I will conduct a survey among residents of different age groups and present the results in this thesis.
I will describe various forms of sustainable transportation, including cycling, public transport, and electric vehicles, and analyze their impacts on the environment and the European Union's goals in this area. Additionally, I will present some interesting forms of sustainable transportation that have been introduced in the Municipality of Postojna, such as the establishment of traffic-calming zones, the renovation of Tržaška Road, and the Posbikes bicycle rental system.
