In the article, the author examines military chaplains' different duties and responsibilities while providing spiritual care for military personnel. Historical examples show that while the development of spiritual care in the military (armed forces) in the first 2,000 years was slow, spiritual care surpassed the old framework of military chaplains in recent decades. Currently, military chaplains provide spiritual care and become counsellors, therapists, and so forth, not only for the military personnel but also for their family members. At the same time, they cooperate with non-governmental organizations and significantly impact military-political events. Military chaplains' duties now exceed classical theological-religious activities, as they also cover areas of medicine, psychology, cultural studies, marriage and family therapy, and other related fields.
