Our Lady of Rot is the title of a short animation project I've written, designed and filmed for my master's thesis. It's a 6 minute long stop motion animation with puppets, exploring themes of exploitation, overconsumption, propaganda and socioeconomic inequality through metaphors of flesh, rot and breath.
In the written part of my thesis, I will go over my entire creative process making it, from inspirations, themes, aesthetic vision, choice of materials and technique, to making of the storyboard and animatic, to designing and producing puppets and scenography, to animation and post-production. I will pay special attention to use of wax as a puppet medium and animation of speech with modular mouths.
