In my work I wanted to tell a story of the metamorphosis od growing up mentally and
physical through a silent comic. I researched what narrative illustration is, branches that my
work falls under and how visual communication works inside silent comics. Along with that I
explained the difference between silent and normal comics, why I chose a silent comic and
how it helps the function of my work. By analysing already existing silent comics I can find
important elements that are mandatory for understanding it, such as stronger visual
communication, character expressions, color symbolism and so on. I explained how the
topics of parasocial relationships and isolation play a part in the story and what symbolizes
them. The end goal is to make a physical product. At the end I even interviewed two people
to check the functionality of my silent comic and how people with different backgrounds
interpret symbolism in the story.
