In this work, the development of a smart irrigation system based on the ESP_MESH network
is presented, intended for commercial use and adapted to the form of farming known as
market gardening. The aim of this thesis is to develop a prototype of a robust smart irrigation
system that will mitigate the effects of changing climate on vegetable production.
In the introductory chapters, a comparison and selection of all components of the smart
irrigation system are shown. The thesis then presents the entire development of the irrigation
system, from the control unit with a custom-made printed circuit board, where the user inputs
data via a modern user interface, to hardware such as valves and sensors, to the control unit,
also with a custom-made printed circuit board, which manages a larger number of sensors and
valves.
In the conclusion, the thesis presents the test results and the challenges of the development,
where we also evaluate the success of the project itself and the possibilities for improvement.
