The thesis discusses the adaptations of the text represented in the library materials of the children's and youth section of the Local Library in Mengeš. The selected books were suitable for dyslexics and labelled with the dyslexia pictogram. The theoretical background of our research is briefly presented. In the empirical part, the books are analysed according to five sets of adaptations. Based on the recommendations of the British Dyslexia Association, appropriate and less appropriate adaptations for each book were identified. It has also been examined whether the number of relevant adaptations by publishers has been increasing over the years. The representation of each of the 25 adaptations was checked and existing publishing solutions were examined. We presented the results of our searches in the COBISS+, the Slovenian reciprocal computer catalogue, looking for footnotes, subject headings and uncontrolled subject headings that would help to make the search for material adapted for people with dyslexia more successful, faster and easier.
