Effective surveillance of video cameras and timely response to security threats are key to ensuring safety. Often, existing video surveillance solutions are too complex or expensive, limiting their use. Our approach to solving this problem is to develop a web application that makes it easy to add and manage video surveillance streams through a user interface. The application includes functionalities for real time detection of people and automatic notification of users and storage of footage. The thesis will start with an introduction to the technologies and tools used. This will be followed by the system design, the implementation of the application and the integration of the different technologies. Finally, we will describe the use of the application and present possible improvements and future upgrades of the system. The result of the thesis is a user friendly application that improves security by providing fast notification and efficient archiving of security footage.
