The paper describes some features of narrative discourse as represented in three different short stories, two of which are particularly strongly defined by a limited, restricted space. The focus is on narratological concepts such as narrator, focalisator, mimetic segments, time, tempo and rhythm, where the field of narrative strategy becomes even more tense and sharp because of the restricted space of the short (and mini-) story.
