Basic agricultural activities can be successfully complement and build upon the complementary activities, which should be seen as the basis for the successful development of the enterprising agricultural holdings. Woods represent a significant part of revenue for farms or some kind of backup capital. Analysis of forestry areas of complementary activities on Pohorje andKozjak are in place orders through questionnaires, suitable for population research area. Respondents were forestry institutions of complementary activities. Of the 35 selected, we analyzed 25. Age structure of our sample were above the national average. The main source of income is derived from theforestry industries. Dominated by mixed farms, means that at least one member of the farm household is employed outside the farm. 31% of complementary media has registered logging activities, followed by sawing, planing and impregnation of wood (24%) and services for forestry by 19%. A large proportion of the service institutions made in foreign forests. To improve the economic situation of the institution and potential self-employment were the main reasons why institutions decided for the registration of complementary activities. The future development of forestry complementary activities is focused on the need for further investment activities, increased value and integration and education for holders of complementary activities and concession possibilities in state forest.
