This work deals with response of Slovenia and Poland to migrants in Syrian and Ukrainian migrant crisis. The purpose of this work is to study migration policy of the European union in Ukrainian and Syrian crisis and to compare the responses of Poland and Slovenia in those crises. Using method of analysis of primary and secondary sources and description method I analysed the development of Syrian and Ukrainian migrant crisis, migration policy of the EU and the response of Slovenia and Poland in both crises. I compared both responses using comparison method. I found out that European migration policy changed, since EU a different legal basis was used in Ukrainian migration crisis than in Syrian migration crisis. The functioning of two EU agencies has changed. I found out that Slovenia and Poland reacted differently in Syrian crisis which was shown in their foreign policy response. Both were not favoured to migrants. I also found out that their differences in responses in Ukrainian crisis were small as these differences show only in their military assistance to Ukraine and response of polish local communities to Ukrainian migrants. These findings help understand how the Eu functions and that it has many ways of dealing with its own problems. Results also suggest that EU migration and asylum policy changes slowly.
