The graduation thesis presents the analysis and design of typical ceiling construction in multistorey business–residential building. The architectural plans were acquired at conceptual design phase, therefore minor corrections of load-bearing construction had to be made before analysis. The analysis was concluded with the help of 3D structural model, made in software program SOFiSTiK. In addition, all vertical load-bearing elements below and above the analysed slab were also included in the model. The analysis considered the dead and permanent weight of the considered slab and also the properly distributed imposed load, based on Eurocode standards. Other actions on the slab were not included in the analysis. The program calculated the required amount of reinforcement based on ultimate limit states and serviceability limit states (crack width limitation). It was determent that the chosen thickness of the ceiling structure from the conceptual project is appropriate.
