Abstract
Cilji diplomskega dela so bili: ugotoviti, v kolikšni meri so vzgojitelji v zasavskih vrtcih pravopisno ozaveščeni, preveriti, katere jezikovne napake prevladujejo v zapisih vabil in obvestil, ter raziskati, če tri spremenljivke, in sicer starost, izobrazba in delovna doba, vplivajo na pravopisno ozaveščenost vzgojiteljev Zasavja. Zbrala in analizirala sem 100 primerov vabil in 100 obvestil.

Title:
Grammatical Awarness of Preschool Teachers in Zasavje Kindergartens
Abstract:
In the diploma thesis we have researched grammatical competencies of kindergarten teachers in kindergartens in Zasavje and conducted analyses of invitations and notices with regard to grammatical errors. The first main focus in the theoretical part is Slovene as an official language in the republic of Slovenia. We continued with the role of language in the educational process, we have defined social genres in Slovene language and described types of texts in detail, giving more attention to invitation and notice. The goals of the diploma thesis were to determine grammatical awareness of kindergarten teachers in kindergartens in Zasavje, to check which grammatical errors dominate in invitations and notices and to research whether three variables, namely age, education and period of employment, affect grammatical awareness of kindergarten teachers in Zasavje. Grammatical awareness was explored with the help of a questionnaire, which was given to 100 kindergarten teachers. We have collected and analysed 100 examples of invitations and 100 examples of notices. Research has shown that kindergarten teachers in Zasavje have satisfactory grammatical awareness. 57 % of kindergarten teachers answered that language awareness is important to them and only 4 % do not feel qualified for language activities implementation, which are significantly affected by individuals’ education. In the second part of the research we have found that most common grammatical errors are writing date and time and that education has an effect on grammatical awareness in all instances. In the final part of the diploma thesis we suggested some guidelines that are appropriate for kindergarten teachers as well as other pedagogues who wish to eliminate most common grammatical errors.
