Repository of the University of Ljubljana (RUL) is an institutional repository and enables storage and public access to digital objects from educational and research activities of UL (electronic versions of written final works of studies, publications of UL employees, articles, monographs and textbooks, published at faculties and academies of UL, research data and other research results). Similarity of content is checked for each written work when stored in RUL.

RUL is connected to student information systems of faculties and academies of UL, Open Science Slovenia portal, COBISS.SI, SICRIS and Vega supercomputer, included into European portal of doctoral dissertations DART-Europe and different directories, aggregators and search machines (OpenDOAR, ROAR, OpenAIRE EXPLORE, BASE, CORE …). 

Compatibility of RUL with OpenAIRE Guidelines enables the European Commission to monitor compliance with provisions on open access to publications from Horizon Europe projects.
