The diploma thesis deals with the process of digital product renewal on the example of the B2B portal for the company SaleSqueze. The purpose of the work is to present the entire design process of a digital product, from the first idea to the final production of a functional prototype. It is presented how to translate an idea into a tangible product through an iterative work process and a series of development phases.
The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical part, the company for which the renovation of the digital product was worked, the company's product and the idea of the new B2B portal are presented in more detail. The theoretical part also covers the field of user experience design, where the planning, design and prototyping methods used in the process are presented.
In the practical part, the main idea of the B2B portal is presented. This is followed by the discovery phase, where the buyer's problem is defined, and the ordering process of B2B buyers is presented. Standard methods of the research process are used to make the definition of the problem easier, such as creating personas, mapping the user path, mapping the customer's tasks, etc. The discovery phase ends with the determination of the basic modules of the B2B portal, which include the most important functionalities of the product and are the basis for further design.
The design and prototyping process follows, where the product conception process is first presented. Standard user experience design methods such as paper prototypes and wireframes were used for proof of concept. The main goal of the task was to create a functional prototype of the B2B portal, which is the best approximation of the actual appearance and operation of the product before implementation.
The diploma thesis also contains the results and a discussion of the entire process, where it was determined what was good in the process itself and what could be improved in the process. The result of the work was a functional prototype of a B2B portal.
