The entrepreneurial environment or ecosystem has a strong influence on nascent, new and established enterprises, since it can support or inhibit their entrepreneurial operations. The entrepreneurial environment consists of numerous fields, which co-form it and establish suitable conditions for the development of entrepreneurship. An important part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem is the field of state measures for support and encouragement of entrepreneurship, which creates and strengthens the entrepreneurial environment. The Master's thesis thoroughly researched and analysed the field of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the field of state measures in the form of incentives for enterprises or micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (hereinafter SMEs) in Slovenia.
With a thorough study of the discussed topics and with the help of an analysis of the entrepreneurial environment and analysis of the results of the performed survey among Slovenian SMEs, answers to the set questions were formed and discovered were the advantages and disadvantages of the discussed fields. One of the more important findings of the Master’s thesis is that in all the three observed years, the quality of the Slovenian entrepreneurial environment is lower than the average of European countries. It is also of significant importance that 59 % of the questioned SMEs thought that in Slovenia, there are not enough suitable and effective state measures in the form of financial and substantive incentives to encourage and support the entrepreneurship.
Considering all the obtained findings and results of the analyses of the Master’s thesis, it can be concluded that the discussed fields in Slovenia require changes. Based on the findings, recommendations and suggestions for changes to improve the mentioned fields were formed.
The identification of the advantages and disadvantages of the field of the entrepreneurial ecosystem and the field of state measures and the provided recommendations and proposals are very important or a great contribution to the profession, since based on findings and complete understanding of the discussed topics, policy creators and other key-participants can properly respond and contribute to the improvement and strengthening of an encouraging entrepreneurial environment in Slovenia.
