In this thesis we will discuss the issue of excessive interphaze stocks, stock of components and finished products. In selected company, we want to introduce lean methods, optimaze the work process and material flow. The assembly workplace is in need of renovation, the old equipment will be replaced with new one, which means that it will be necessary to invest in new equipment. The company would like to know whether this invesment pays off over a certain amortization period. We used lean methods, such as 5S, 7W, kanban and One-Piece Flow to optimize the process. We reorganized the entire supply of material or internal transport to the workplace. We got rid of preparation of material for each individual work order and we moved part of stock directly to the workplace, where workers themselves prepare components for assembly of the finished products. We calculated the optimal batch sizes, from existing 200-500 pieces to 50 pieces. In this way, we reduced the production quantities and stock quantities of compoments and finished products.
