Virtual reality (VR) is a computer-generated three-dimensional environment. The thesis describes the process of developing an educational 360 panorama of a picture book and a VR picture book, which can be accessed via a browser. The central purpose of the thesis is to create and upgrade an illustration into virtual reality and 360 panoramas, with added multimedia elements, and to create an interactive and educational product. The application is primarily intended for children, but also for those users who are interested in presenting information in a different way. With this approach, I wanted to create a different and interesting way of providing information to children, which is mostly found only in 2D form, and to create an educational application that will explain the development of frogs, mushrooms in Slovenia, and meadow flowers with a different approach.
In the first part, the thesis describes the theoretical side of the panorama, projections, VR technology in connection with children, virtual reality, and its history. The following is a presentation and description of the technology used.
The second part presents the application development process, user testing, conclusions, and possibilities for further development.
