The main focus of the master's thesis is the importance of the tourist information centres in a tourist destination. We also researched the impact of information available in tourist information centres and how it can influence visitors’ decisions. Tourist information centres used to be an important channel to gather information. However, the accessibility of the internet to everyone and intense digitalisation have changed the role of tourist information centres. They are now seen as an inspiration centre that influences visitors in exploring less-known tourist attractions in the destination and to extend their stay in the destination. We used a Dutch model for analyzing the activities of the Ljubljana Tourist Information Centre and, using a questionnaire, conducted research among the visitors of the Ljubljana Tourist Information Centre to get an insight into how tourist information centre services and the information available impact visitors’ decisions and their travel plans. We also made some recommendations for improving the services of the Ljubljana Tourist Information Centre.
