The Alpine farmhouse with outbuilding "Pri Dolinčku" in the village of Dol is the most important cultural monument in the municipality of Medvode, Slovenia. The house has interesting architectural features that indicate that it dates back to the 17th, 18th or even 16th century. At the house, we investigated the wooden structures, which included inspection of the wood, collection of samples by coring, wood identification, and dendrochronological analysis. Of the accessible wood elements, we collected 31 cores from the house and 4 from the outbuilding. Norway spruce (Picea abies) and oak (Quercus spp.) were the predominant wood species in the structures. Seven elements of the oak could be dated dendrochronologically. Since most of the oaks did not contain sapwood, we estimated that the wood was cut around 1585. Most of the Norway spruce samples had too few tree rings for dendrochronological dating, so we were only able to date one spruce sample with an end date of 1695. Based on the location of the dated elements, we believe that the original building was constructed around 1585. The house was extended and renovated several times, as indicated by the dating of the spruce element (1695) and probably by the inscriptions, i.e. the dates 1765 and 1884, on the structural elements of the house.
