In recent decades, interest in aleksandrinstvo, phenomenon of female labour migration of
Slovenian women in Egypt, has increased significantly, which is reflected also in revived
literary production of works including this topic. Works are discussed in several systematic
analyses, but lists of texts in research are at the moment incomplete, both because of many
new works as well as due to omission of some older texts. After defining the phenomenon of
aleksandrinstvo I therefore add some missing works to previous analyses. I'm also interested in
how representations of aleksandrinke changes over time and whether the topic was treated
differently during the time of aleksandrinstvo and after it. I also briefly interpret works in aspect
of their closeness to the most common models of representations of aleksandrinke (Beautiful
Vida, suffering victim, emancipated women) and present the innovations individual literary
works introduce to the image of aleksandrinke.
