In my thesis, I study the use of group visual art activities in working with children. In the theoretical part of the thesis, I focus on the professional background of creative activities in social work and art therapy. One of their main characteristics is that the artistic expression is not intended for aesthetic enjoyment and evaluation. The approach is focused on the work process, not on the result of the activity, that is final product. Thus, the most important element of the activity is the experience itself.
In the empirical part, I performed and researched the use of process-oriented visual art activities with a group of children. The results showed that the children want to do such activities and respond positively to the aforementioned approach. These kinds of activities bring them a different possibility of communication, cooperation, relaxing, and growth of sources of power.
