The purpose of the article is to present the dynamics of the development of descriptions of orthoepy in two textbooks of Slovene as a foreign language. The textbooks bring together the author, the teacher of Slovene, the users, Slovene beginners, and the orthoepy of the Slovene formal language. Differences in the description of the orthoepy reflect the time of their creation: the textbook by Jožef Skrbinška dates from the early Thirties, while Albina Lipovec and Jan Peter from the mid-Seventies.
