The diploma thesis focuses on the support for translations, provided by the Slovenian Book Agency to books by Slovenian authors in a foreign language. My goal was to identify trends in support. In my research I used data on supported translations, published by the Slovenian Book Agency. I have found that the number of supported titles has risen in 2018, the same year as we signed a Contract to host the Frankfurt Book Fair. Also in the years from 2015 to 2018, financial resources for support from the state increased. The average support per translation in these four years was € 3,180.41. The most commonly supported language was German, followed by English. Reason for this is hosting Frankfurt book fair, which is why JAK created a special tender only for translations into German. The most frequently supported literary genre are novels, which accounts for 43 % of support. Poetry and short prose follow. Most authors are supported only once. The authors, who stand out for large number of supported works, are Aleš Šteger, Drago Jančar, Goran Vojnovič and Evald Flisar. There is no pattern in the repetition of translators. Translator, who is the most repeated, is the spanish translator Maria Florencia Ferre.
