The European Parliament adopted Machine Directive 2006/42 / EC with a view to enhancing the safety and health of people and the environment in which machinery operates. It sets out the essential safety and health requirements for the use of machinery that a machine placed on the market or put into service in the EU must meet. The company proves the compliance of machines with the Directive by preparing a technical map of the machine, which also contains a risk assessment, the basic procedure of which gives us a harmonized standard SIST EN ISO 12100. The first part of the thesis presents technical legislation for products, especially Machine Directive 2006/42 / EC , its articles and annexes. The following is a description of the standard iterative risk assessment and risk reduction procedure, and a presentation of the qualitative procedure with numerical evaluation of risk according to Reudenbach, which we used in the risk assessment. To help with the risk assessment, we developed proposals for hazard identification, risk assessment calculation and risk reduction. The risk assessment procedure is shown and explained in the thesis on the case of mechanical hazard of rotating elements of the MN SS03 assembly machine. The full assessment can be found in Annex A. It shows how we used the risk reduction process to reduce the excessive risks to an acceptable level and thus ensure the safety of the machine.
