Diploma thesis, titled Development of paste for textile printing with turmeric and the design of a sustainable organizer combines research in textile technology and design with the idea of sustainability. The thesis focuses on the issues related to the textile industry, such as pollution and unethical production. Sustainable design, which includes new innovative materials combined with cultural and technological heritage, is discussed as a solution for textile production with a decreased negative impact on the environment and people. Therefore, the theoretical section of the diploma thesis explores the use of natural dyes and pigments in the past and their use in textile design nowadays. In the experimental section, the preparation of a biodegradable textile printing paste is presented along with the determination of its fastness properties and color measurements. Additionally, the development of the textile prints collection for kitchen textiles is presented in the experimental section. In the concluding part of the thesis, color measurements are discussed and photos of the sustainable organizer are presented.
