The paper addresses the issue of influences on (translated) texts and presents the possibility of the empirical evaluation of textual corrections. It defines the connection between language revision (linguistic correction) and translation revision (comparing the translation to the original), as well as discussing the reasons for and consequences of the work of language revisers in the Slovene context, which are underlined by a model of empirical analysis and the kinds of revisions actually made.
