The field of comparative research mostly refers to aspects of social science research conducted in different countries or cultures. In this context, certain challenges also arise in web surveying, which is one of the most popular mode of collecting survey data. When conducting a survey research across countries or cultures, we often face multilingual surveys. Within this context, this diploma thesis refers to the interfaces developed in web survey tools to support multilingual surveys. First, general problems and challenges that arise when translating web surveys in comparative research are discussed. It is not uncommon that web survey tools do not meet user requirements, which can, therefore, extend the time it takes to create and analyse a survey or may also increase the possibility of errors. In the empirical part, key functionalities of translation interfaces are identified and then systematically evaluated for seven web survey tools. The analysis showed notable differences, both in terms of the design of these functionalities and also in terms of performance of the selected tools.
