In the thesis, I present the process of inspection and its participants (inspector, party, notice party). I focus on the activities of the Inspectorate of the Republic of Slovenia for Education and Sport, which is a body constitutive body within the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport. I present the organizational structure of the Inspectorate and the field of its control, where I describe the structure of the educational system in Slovenia, and analyse the work of the inspectorate in the fields of education and sport, where I focus on regular and extraordinary inspections. I also describe the educational inspection in Sweden and England, since I find it important to provide insights to other countries with well-developed educational systems. In the thesis, I also deal with concrete cases of notice participation, which I present and comment from the perspective of an external observer. In the thesis, I also validate two hypotheses, set in the introduction. I confirm the hypotheses with the use of the descriptive method and the analytical method by analysing statistical data for the period 2016-2019.
